Honeybees will rarely sting unless they are stepped on or they think their hive is threatened. If you are stung by a honeybee, it is important to remove the stinger as soon as possible. You can do this by scraping it with your fingernail or an object like a credit card. Do not pull the stinger out or squeeze the poison sack on the stinger.
Most people are not allergic to insect stings, but if you are allergic, a severe reaction can occur in 10 minutes or less. Get emergency help as soon as possible.
